Thanks to boundary changes, this constituency was notionally a Labour seat even though it had been won by Nicola Sturgeon, the SNP’s Depute Leader, in 2007. In 2011, Sturgeon held the seat with a much increased majority over Glasgow councillor Stephen Curran. The Liberal Democrats lost their deposit.
Notes: Given boundary changes since 2007, variations in votes and share between seats with different boundaries would be misleading. We use the Denver figures, essentially a calculation of the 2007 votes cast within 2011 boundaries. More information on this here.
