Labour’s Ken Macintosh had contested the supposedly more winnable Paisley South selection contest from Hugh Henry but in the end lost out, and instead went up against Jackson Carlaw in the notionally Tory-held Eastwood constituency. He needn’t have been too worried and secured his fourth election victory. Jackson Carlaw returned to Holyrood on the list.
Notes: Given boundary changes since 2007, variations in votes and share between seats with different boundaries would be misleading. We use the Denver figures, essentially a calculation of the 2007 votes cast within 2011 boundaries. More information on this here.
