This was the first seat to declare in the 2011 election and provided a foretaste of the historic night to come, with Linda Fabiani who had contested this seat since 1999, overturning a Labour majority. Andy Kerr had been the constituency MSP for Labour since 1999. The Liberal Democrat and the Independent both lost their deposits.
Notes: Given boundary changes since 2007, variations in votes and share between seats with different boundaries would be misleading. We use the Denver figures, essentially a calculation of the 2007 votes cast within 2011 boundaries. More information on this here.
