The Livingston seat, which until 2007 covered most of the area now called Almond Valley, was also contested by a local hospital campaigner who scored 8.5% of the vote, hence the net positive swing to the candidates who stood in 2011.
Angela Constance cemented a narrow win in 2007 with an increased majority in 2011. The Livingston was held by Labour’s Bristow Muldoon between 1999 and 2007.
This was never a Liberal Democrat stronghold, but they failed to poll even twice as many as the National Front here.
