Anyone would think there was an election coming up eh?
I’m sure this will be an evolving list, but I’m struck by some of the names added to the Twitterati in the past few days and weeks (mostly SNP Government folks, come to think of it) who are associated with Holyrood and parties, so I thought I’d list them for your following pleasure. Or something.
Constituency/ regional list that they are standing in is in brackets (which, if they are already an MSP, may be different from the area they currently represent). Â Additions (and corrections!) welcome.

Superb effort Malc. What a list! I can’t think of any omissions at the moment.
Now for the million dollar question though – who of the above is most likely to type the wrong thing in anger and end up on the front page of the Daily Record?
(James, don’t let it be you buddy…!)

You mean like revealing the results of postal ballots before the count???
#3 by Jeff on January 19, 2011 - 11:15 am
Haha, touche Chris, yes, something incredibly stupid like that for example… Good thing our honourable MSPs/PPCs have a modicum more good sense than I.
I’m still not ruling out a slip of the thumb from someone though (and my question in the earlier comment was meant as rhetorical)

Are you looking to expand this list for any candidates that are already selected? As I can spot a couple of omissions already if you are.
#5 by Malc on January 20, 2011 - 11:05 am
Yep – fire them to me if you know some Holyrood candidates. Just to, you know, keep it complete…

Can’t see the recipient of my vote in May.

Is he a candidate for Holyrood as well? Or was he just for Westminster?
#8 by Alec Macph on January 21, 2011 - 1:08 am
When he was for Westminster, my vote went to John Thurso ‘cos I’m a man of contradictions.
He now is the Holyrood FPtP candidate, as well as the fourth List member for the region.

A wee correction to your list:
Jim Hume is Lib Dem MSP for the South of Scotland region, and is no.1 on the Lib Dem South of Scotland list this time. He is not the candidate for Midlothian South etc. That is Jeremy Purvis MSP.

Thanks – I will amend. I thought he might be a candidate somewhere too, but I couldn’t find it and took a guess (and, rather embarrassingly, thought JP was the candidate for Ettrick etc, which presumably will be a Euan Robson v John Lamont battle again?)
#11 by Daniel on January 20, 2011 - 10:08 pm
Last I heard that’s what it was going to be. JP’s constituency lost a lot of the rural south and picked up Midlothian South (much to Christine Grahame’s delight!).

Forget to ask if anyone knows whether Jeremy stood to go on the South of Scotland list? I’ll admit to not loving the Lib Dems but he’s definitely one of the better ones and a pretty good constituency MSP.

Isn’t Colin macgivan on twitter? I’m sure he’s a list candidate
#14 by Malc on January 24, 2011 - 5:20 pm
If you give me a link, I can add him (assuming he is indeed a candidate!).

Thanks for a really useful list! http://twitter.com/#!/AlexSalmond4FM, http://twitter.com/#!/kennymacaskill and http://twitter.com/#!/FionaHyslop are all also on Twitter now.
#16 by Malc on February 1, 2011 - 5:42 pm
Many thanks Ben – have added them, and Roseanna Cunningham, who I noticed had joined the Twitterverse as well. Keep them coming!
#17 by Gregor on February 1, 2011 - 5:48 pm
I don’t think Joe FitzPatrick and Shona Robison (Dundee City West & Dundee City East) will be tweeting separately, but rather through @DundeeSNP
#18 by Malc on February 1, 2011 - 5:50 pm
Thanks… I’ll add that, in probably those exact words!
